BUSY BANK HOLIDAY FOR BORO

Bacup Borough have a busy weekend in front of them with two away trips to Holker Old Boys and Golcar United who they play on Bank Holiday Monday.

After the recent win over a strong AFC Blackpool the lads are in good spirits and looking to build on that success with positive performances in these two tough games.

Holker Old Boys - Rakesmoor

Holker Old Boys are currently sitting in 6th place having played five games, winning three, drawing one, and losing one. Talking to the manager Brent Peters he had this to say about the opponents. "Going to Holker is always a tough place to go, and we've never had an easy game yet up there. It's up to our lads to put on a performance and hopefully keep this momentum going in the right direction."

As for the Bank Holiday Monday game at Golcar United that will also be a tough encounter in front of a big crowd. Last season's fixture was a full house and the atmosphere intense with borough coming through that game with flying colours and a 2-0 victory.

Borough goalkeeper Harry Turner knows too well that concentration is key in all of the games, he said. "Every game we play is tough in the Counties. This weekend's games are illustration of that. A trip to Cumbria followed by another away day to Yorkshire 48 hours later, we all need to be on it. If you look closely at the goals we've conceded they've been gifts for the opposition, mistakes in silly areas of the pitch. It's important that we stamp out those errors from our game. Once we can do that I'm certainly we'll gather even more momentum."
