BORO PLAY HOST TO FC UNITED

This coming Saturday Borough will play host to Northern Premier side FC United of Manchester. And with the season only several weeks away it will be another stern test for Brent Peters team.



The new season will kick off on the 31st July and every game played between now and then is a step towards hitting the ground running in the North West Counties Football League, and Neil Reynolds FC United will certainly provide that test on Saturday.

Talking to the manager, Brent Peters, he said. "We are delighted of course to be playing FC United at home this coming weekend. These type of games are excellent benchmarks for my squad as it gives us an indication of how well we are progressing towards the new season. I expect Neil to bring a strong squad and if we can produced the same kind of display as we did against Atherton Collieries, then it should be an entertaining afternoon for all."


Brent also wanted to briefly mention the supporters. "It's really important for us as a club to show support towards our supporters and the supporters of FC United. That is why we have collectively, both clubs, decided to keep the prices low for this game. Prices fitting for a pre-season friendly. And hopefully this will entice a few to get their football fix on Saturday."


The bar will be open for beverage - And hot snacks will also be available.
