Bacup Borough travel to Euxton Villa FC in the FA Vase Second Qualifying Round this weekend looking to progress through the rounds with the prospect of being involved in some memorable games.
New look 4G surface in place at the Jim Fowler Memorial Ground
Borough have enjoyed recent wins against Garstang and Darwen, and will be hoping that tomorrow afternoon at the Jim Fowler Memorial Ground they can move one step closer to Wembley.
The competition is a fantastic opportunity for those further down the footballing pyramid to 'dare to dream' of playing under the Wembley arch.
The FA Vase Final as always will be played at Wembley Stadium
Over the past few years teams from the North West Counties have excelled in the competition with Warrington Rylands winning the FA Vase back in 2020-21 season.
Great memories for Warrington Rylands in 2020-21
In recent years Borough have faired reasonably well in the competition and been involved in some extremely competitive games. Victories over Penistone Church, Grimsby Borough, Stockport Town and AFC Campion are just a few to mention. And the trip to Euxton Villa will certainly be a challenging encounter.
Brent Peters is hoping to have several players back in contention for selection. Michael Gervin and Bradley Hancock who both missed last weeks win over Darwen FC could feature in the game. And this presents a positive headache for the Borough boss.

Talking to the manager about the up and coming fixture, he said;
"They're always competitive games against Euxton. We've not had too much joy on their pitch since they arrived in the Counties, but tomorrow is a different day and you never know what the cup can throw up.
Brent Peters fully focused on the challenge of Euxton Villa
"The new 4G surface that's been recently installed could throw up some problems for us but I won't be using that as an excuse tomorrow. We know what Euxton are all about. They have plenty of quality players all over the pitch, and it's up to us to make sure that any fires they start are quickly put out. As I always say. I don't focus too much on the opposition because if our lads do what I know they can do, it will be Euxton worrying about us not the other way around.
"Don't get me wrong they'll be plenty of respect being shown from us, but my primary focus will always be what we can do to them. It should be a cracker."
A large contingent of support is expected to travel to the game. Anybody interested in going to the match. Here are the details:
